About

I’m a staff-level software engineer and startup CTO specializing in rapid prototyping and applied generative AI.

Over the past decade, I’ve built and scaled cross-platform consumer products from 0 to 1.6M users—designing end-to-end systems that blend LLM-based intelligence with delightful mobile experiences. I’m passionate about creating products and tools that enhance performance and bring joy to users.

I love tinkering and building around my hobbies in health and fitness. When I’m not coding, you’ll find me swimming, biking, or running around NYC (and beyond!) – you can find me on Strava here. I’m also interested in local politics, transportation, and urban design.

Experience

CTO & Cofounder

2015-Present

MySwimPro (Remote)

Built the world's leading swim training platform. Led engineering, product, and design teams in delivering AI-driven, multi-platform experiences.

  • AI prototyping & integration: Designed and shipped the AI Swim Coach system — an LLM-powered workflow that generates personalized swim workouts, multi-week plans, and post-workout feedback using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with member performance data.
  • Rapidly iterated on multiple genAI prototypes in production using OpenAI APIs, internal embeddings stores, and structured prompts; optimized for tone, accuracy, and personalization.
  • Architected distributed backend on AWS (EB, S3) and reduced deploy times from 3 hrs → 1 hr through full CI/CD automation.
  • Built and maintained major app surfaces across iOS/watchOS, Android, and Web, including workout execution engine, analytics pipeline, and payment systems (Apple, Google, Stripe).
  • Partnered with Apple, Google, and Garmin engineering teams on watchOS and Android integrations; earned repeated App Store features.
  • Hired and managed a cross-functional team; mentored across full-stack and AI prototyping workflows.

iOS Engineer

2015-2017

Expedia (Ann Arbor, MI)

  • Contributed to Expedia's flagship iOS app and several white-label travel apps.
  • Migrated large Objective-C codebases to Swift 3 and improved modularity and build performance.
  • Collaborated closely with design and backend teams on hotel search and booking flow experiments.

Software Engineer

2014-2015

Thomson Reuters (Dexter, MI)

  • Developed full-stack enterprise software for tax professionals using PostgreSQL, .NET Web APIs, and AngularJS.
  • Shipped desktop and web features used by thousands of accounting firms.
